"I started feeling good again when I started light running and my cricket. I felt like I was back to my world,” Shami told Reuters.

The 25-year-old pacer last played for the country during the ICC World Cup last year, where he finished as the team`s second-highest wicket-taker, with 17 wickets.

It seems that Shami got too irritated with his injury as it kept him away from the game for so long.

"It`s very difficult to mentally come out of an injury. I just hope it never happens to me again in my life,” added Shami.

Just ahead of Team India's tour of Australia, limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni also pointed at Shami`s importance in the team.

"He has worked really hard during his rehab. It will be interesting to see how he shapes up. I will try to manage him well because the World Cup is just round the corner," Dhoni said.
