Bahut badi baat hai: Ajinkya Rahane on his back-to-back ton in Delhi
In the fourth Test of the recently concluded Freedom Series, the 27-year-old scored centuries in both the innings.
New Delhi: Indian middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane has termed his two centuries at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground against South Africa as special knocks.
Talking to The Indian Express, Rahane said that "These two hundreds were very special. It came in the venue where I had made my Tests debut. Since my debut was not memorable, I was eager to do well this time around."
In the fourth Test of the recently concluded Freedom Series, the 27-year-old scored centuries in both the innings, to become only the fifth Indian to achieve the feat after Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid and Virat Kolhi.
"Being only the fifth player to achieve that… bahut badi baat hai," he added.
His innings of 127 and 100*, along with spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja's impressive spells helped India beat South Africa 3-0 in the four-match series, after the Bangalore match got washed out.
Rahane made his Test debut in Delhi, against Australia in March 2013. He scored 7 and 1 in the two innings of the match.
