Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 1st ODI: Sikandar Raza fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct
Zimbabwe`s Sikandar Raza has been fined for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.
New Delhi: Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza has been fined for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the first One-Day International match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in Mirpur on Saturday.
Raza, 29, was fined 15 per cent of his match fee by match referee Javagal Srinath after he showed dissent at umpire's decision, thus breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
The Sialkot-born cricketer delayed leaving the wicket - shaking his head and uttering some words - after he was given out caught behind. He became Mashrafe Mortaza's 200th ODI wicket.
According to a report in ICC's official website, the player was found to have breached Article 2.1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match”.
The report said, the charge was levelled by on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Sharfuddoula, third umpire Enamul Haque, and fourth umpire Anisur Rahman.
All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
Bangladesh won the match by 145 runs, with man-of-the-match Mushfiqur Rahim making a stroke-ful 107-run knock off 109 deliveries. Raza took two wickets in the Bangladesh innings, before making three runs off 25 balls.
Zimbabwe are playing a three-match ODI series, before culminating the Bangladesh tour with two Twenty20 Internationals.
