Blow for Anil Kumble as Ravichandran Ashwin leave training camp with hand injury
The Indian team is due to leave for West Indies on July 5 for a four-match Test series, with the first Test to be played at Antigua.
New Delhi: During the press-conference on Monday ahead of India's visit to the Carrabean, the new Indian cricket coach Anil Kumble confirmed the reports that Ravichandran Ashwin has suffered a hand injury at training.
Though Jumbo admitted that the off-spinner left the training after sustaining the injury, it doesn't rule him out for the series against West Indies. While speaking about the incident Kumble said, "It’s a bruise, we’ll assess him. It’s been just an hour since it happened.”
The Indian team is due to leave for West Indies on July 5 for a four-match Test series, with the first Test to be played at Antigua. Test captain Virat Kohli was also present at the press conference along with Anil Kumble and he reiterated whether they play in India or abroad, the intentions are to win the series.
