Speaking to Harsha Bhogle on the sidelines of the fourth Test between India and South Africa, Sehwag said that when his sons tell him they will break his record, in order to motivate them, he has promised them to give a Ferrari if they do so in any form of cricket.

Sehwag was felicitated by the BCCI before the start of play on Day 1 of the final Test between India and South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground.

Viru was modest enough to say that he was lucky to score more than 300 runs in an innings on two occasions for India. The flamboyant opener said that several catches were dropped when he scored 309 runs and 319 runs against Pakistan and South Africa respectively.

The 37-year-old said that he missed out on an opportunity to break Brian Lara's record of highest individual Test score ever (400* vs England) when he was dismissed on 319 against the Proteas in 2008.

Sehwag was watching the match with his wife, mother and two sons who had come to attend his ceremony.
