Chances of Indo-Pak series reduced significantly: PCB Chief Shahryar Khan
PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan stated that prospects of much-anticipated Indo-Pak cricket ties `have been reduced significantly`.
New Delhi: While talking about Indo-Pak bilateral cricket series, a miffed PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan on Wednesday stated that prospects of the much-anticipated tournament 'have been reduced significantly'.
Khan, who visited India recently to meet some top government ministers and BCCI officials in a bid to resume cricketing ties with India, told ANI: “There is continuing delay we'll have to assume that it is 'no', so chances of series taking place have been reduced significantly.”
“We don't have much time left, so Yes or No reply is absolutely necessary,” added Khan.
However, the series seems highly unlikely after BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur had already said that conditions have to improve to hold talks and only then a bilateral series could be a possibility.
The PCB chief was to hold talks with BCCI President Shashank Manohar in Mumbai on Monday but the plan had to be aborted after angry Shiv Sena activists stormed the Board office to protest any move to resume cricketing ties between the neighbours.
