Patna: BJP on Tuesday demanded that the Centre ensure minimum income of farmers considering the three types of farming prevailing in the country. Demanding this, party`s Kisan Cell Chairman Om Prakash Dhanakkar told reporters that the three types were farming for livelihood, capital intensive farming and commercial farming.
He alleged that the Centre had withheld the hike in prices of paddy, wheat and other food grains rose through capital intensive farming and for that cultivators were not getting appropriate price of their products. Besides the Centre should also give the status of a constitutional or legal authority to Agriculture Price Commission which should adopt a uniform formula for deciding appropriate prices of food grains with full transparency, he said.
