Tokyo: LinkedIn Corp has launched its Japanese language version, marking the rapidly growing professional networking service`s first Asian language platform as it pushes to expand in the region.
The Mountain View, California-based company has also established a Tokyo office, following the opening of its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore in May.
Arvin Rajand, head of LinkedIn`s Asia operations, says Japan is a key market for the company because of the "incredibly talented and technologically sophisticated Japanese workforce." LinkedIn says it has about 120 million members worldwide, with 20 million in the Asia-Pacific. Rajand says the region offers "tremendous opportunities for growth." The service is now available in 10 languages. Rajand says more languages are on the way.
