Mumbai: Gary Kirsten, the South African cricketer who guided the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led India to the 2011 cricket World Cup as coach, has commenced a new innings by floating a travel and tours company.
Kirsten has launched 'Gary Kirsten Travel & Tours' in South Africa, in collaboration with Cape Africa Tours, following the demand for coaching at his cricket academy in Cape Town and Durban, said a media release today.
"The idea was conceived to start a Travel and Tours division to offer individuals and teams a complete travel package," the release said.
Kirsten's academy has witnessed an encouraging response from the Indian market as well, the release said.
"We are excited about affording local players the opportunity to compete against talented international players and of course, having the opportunity to showcase South Africa's facilities and cricket talent to the rest of the world," commented the 46-year-old Kirsten about his new business venture.
