Gurgaon: Women told to stay at home after 8 pm
Unable to check the rising rape cases in the city, the Gurgaon administration has reportedly advised women to stay at home and not work beyond 8 pm in commercial establishments.

New Delhi: Unable to check the rising rape cases in the city, the Gurgaon administration has reportedly advised women to stay at home and not work beyond 8 pm in commercial establishments.
Reports on Wednesday claimed that the Gurgaon local administration has directed all malls and commercial establishments to take permission from the Labour Department to have their women employees working beyond 8 pm.
The move from the Gurgaon authorities came in less than two days after twin rape cases were reported in the city. A second rape was reported from Gurgaon on Tuesday night, which came within 48 hours of the gangrape of a 24-year-old, who was dragged out from her car near the Sahara Mall, taken to a flat and sexually assaulted by 7 men.
Police later arrested five people in connection with the case, while two are still on the run.
All the accused are jobless youths and belong to village Madina of district Rohtak in Haryana. There are several call centres in Gurgaon that employ more than 30,000 women.
The local administration had already given directions to each call centre to provide transport for women who work in the late shift. The drivers of all cars used to drop these workers home have to be registered.
