Rishikesh: The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has approved a budget of Rs 9 crore for the conservation of the endangered big cats in Uttarakhand.
An amount of Rs 9 crore has been approved by NTCA for seven forest divisions adjoining Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve, which have an active presence of tigers, Chief Forest Conservator Savya Sachi Sharma said today. The budget has been approved for a period of five years, Sharma said.
The forest official further said that the amount would be used to install cameras, monitor movement of tigers and increase vigilance in all seven forest divisions.
