New Delhi: Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara continued his superb run in the ICC World Cup 2015 as he slammed a fourth consecutive ton, this time against Scotland in the 35th match of the showpiece event.

The wicketkeeper batsman, who had earlier slammed centuries against Bangladesh (105*), England (117*) and Australia (104) respectively, reached the three-figure mark off 86 balls. He was finally dismissed for 124 by Josh Davey in the 36th over of the innings.


Sanga was involved in a 195-run stand for the second with Tillakaratne Dilshan (104), who scored his second century of the series.


Sanga is now jointly ranked second with Ricky Ponting in terms of maximum centuries scored at the ICC's pinnacle event. Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar tops the list with six centuries.


Prior to this World Cup, Sanga had just one century to his name in the quadrennial extravaganza and now that he has five, he has for sure won the hearts of millions of fans across the world.
