ICC World Twenty20, 2nd semi-final: Can Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chris Gayle set new world records in high-profile India vs West Indies clash?
Windies opener Chris Gayle needs two more sixes to complete his century of sixes.
New Delhi: Hosts India and dangerous West Indies will lock horns on Thursday in the 2nd semi-final of the ICC World Twenty20 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
As both the heavy weights of the T20 format are set for the high-profile battle, few T20I records might also be made during the match.
Explosive Windies opener Chris Gayle needs two more sixes to complete his century of sixes in the slam bang version of the game. Thus far Gayle has smacked 98 sixes in 48 T20Is.
India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs just one more dismissal to set a wicket-keeping record for most dismissals in T20Is.
Apart from that not a single player has touched the three-figure mark when these two teams have met against each other in the past, in the shortest format. The highest individual score to date is 98, which was scored by Gayle. So this record is also expected to be broken on a placid track of Wankhede.
Now it would be interesting to see whether Dhoni and Gayle can achieve the individual records in the much-anticipated clash.
