According to a report in the Times of India, Singh said his government had not refused to provide security for the March 19 game.

“But I still stand by my decision, that organizers of the match first take permission from the martyrs' families. They are not opposing the holding of matches. They are against the Pakistan team playing in Himachal Pradesh,” Singh said.

The Congress CM's remarks came after advocate general Shravan Dogra told high court that the state government was legally obliged to maintain law and order.

Anurag Thakur's brother Arun and some HPCA officials met the family of Pathankot terror attack martyr Sanjeevan Rana at Shahpur in Kangra district. However, according to Pinki, wife of Sanjeevan, the HPCA members did not talk about the India-Pakistan match.

Concerned by fresh protests, Pakistan government has decided to send a security team to assess the situation in India before taking a final call on the team's participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
