Dhawan, who was dropped from the playing XI for the crucial semi-final against Darren Sammy & Co, said he will work on his mistakes and come out as a better player.

In another Tweet, Dhawan had thanked the fans for their support.

In the four matches he played in the tournament, the left-hander scored 1, 6, 23, 13 runs respectively.

His form was under scrutiny and he was finally replaced by Ajinkya Rahane for the semis.

MS Dhoni and his boys suffered a seven-wicket defeat against West Indies, which ended their hopes of winning a record second World Twenty20 title.
