According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the 27-year-old spinner was included in the 11-member squad for the March-April event, which will be held in India.

He was suspended from bowling in international cricket due to an illegal action, after being reported for a suspect action during the third ODI on West Indies' tour to Sri Lanka in November.

His bowling action found to have exceeded the 15-degree limit in an independent assessment.

Interestingly, he was also picked in West Indies' 2015 World Cup squad, but later withdrew to work on his bowling action.

The report claimed that Darren Sammy, who had previously lead the team to T20 World Cup success in 2012 in Sri Lanka, has been retained as the captain.

West Indies squad: Darren Sammy (capt), Samuel Badree, Sulieman Benn, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Jason Holder, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Jerome Taylor
