India, in reply to England's first innings score of 477 all out, were 391/4 with six wickets remaining at stumps on Day 3 at Chepauk.

KL Rahul was the hero of the day even though he missed out on his maiden Test double hundred. His 199 hold the Indian innings together.

He first stitched a 152-run opening stand with Parthiv Patel (71), then produced another brilliant stand of 161 runs with Karun Nair for the fourth wicket.

India, however, witnessed a rare off day from skipper Virat Kohli, who made 15. Cheteshwar Pujara also failed, scoring only 16.

At close, Nair was not out on 71, and was in company of Murali Vijay, on 17.

India still trail England by 86 runs with two days play left in the match.

India have already won the series, thanks to emphatic victories in Visakhapatnam, Mohali and Mumbai.
