According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the speedster was seen running under the watchful eyes of the physio ahead of the third Test.

Steyn missed the rain-marred 2nd Test at Bengaluru and the team management still isn't convinced with his fitness to play him in the third Test starting on Wednesday.

The rest of the South African team did regular practice, with Marchant de Lange sweating out at nets to strengthen his claim for a spot in the playing XI.

Trailing 0-2 in the series, the Hashim Amla-led side will have to wait for a couple of more days before taking a final call on Steyn's inclusion for the third Test.

The third Test is scheduled to be played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur from November 25.
