Beijing: China`s online content providers have been ordered by the country`s Internet and broadcasting authorities to closely monitor videos before making them accessible to users. The State Internet Information Office and State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) jointly issued a circular asking for regulating video content, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. The step has been taken after requests from the public on vulgar or obscene content, which have had a negative impact on young people, it said. In keeping with the order, online video providers will be held responsible for the content posted on their websites, it added.
