Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Tuesday said the possibility of a snap Lok Sabha poll could not be ruled out in the wake of the outcome of assembly election results in five states. The poll results had set alarm bells ringing for the UPA, he said. More parties would now be inclined to join the NDA and the possibility of an early mid-term poll to the Lok Sabha could not be ruled out, Dhumal said. "Perform or perish" was the message from the polls, he said adding the performance of the SAD-BJP government in Punjab helped the combine storm back to power in the state.
The BJP vice-president Shanta Kumar, in-charge of party`s affairs in Punjab, hailed the victory of the BJP-Akali Dal in the state as historic. "It is a victory of the people and clean governance in Punjab," he said.
