Amla, who went unsold at the auction earlier this year, will replace Marsh, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury.

Marsh is said to have picked up the injury in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 19, and has been carrying a niggle since.

None of the franchise owners were keen in buying the South African earlier this year, where he went unsold with a base price of INR 1 crore.

Marsh had a decent season in IPL 2016, where he scored a half-century and two 40-plus scores in six matches.

On the other hand, despite being one of the best batsmen in world cricket at the moment, Amla hasn't played a single match in the IPL so far.
