If reports are to be believed, then, discarded England batsman Kevin Pietersen is not considering playing for South Africa, his birth country.
New Delhi: If reports are to be believed, then, discarded England batsman Kevin Pietersen is not considering playing for South Africa, his birth country.
Rumors related to Pietersen's move started doing the rounds in the media after former England pacer Darren Gough reckoned that South Africa might persuade the 35-year-old to play for them in the future.
However, under ICC rules, once a player has represented a Test-playing country, he must wait for four years to re-qualify for another country.
The maverick batsman KP got a big blow last year when England and Wales Cricket Board's director, Andrew Strauss told the batsman that he would not be considered for an international recall.
Pietersen, who was unceremoniously sacked by the England selectors in 2013, has failed to make a comeback in the team despite impressive performances in several T20 leagues across the globe.
The veteran cricketer Pietersen, has played 104 Tests and 136 ODI caps for England.
