According to a report in The Times of India, Shirke stated that he didn't understand the logic behind it and will go through the report to know the reason behind the recommendation.

Shirke questioned that, when a politician becomes a minister, why isn't he fit for holding a position in the BCCI?

Reports also state that Shirke was diplomatic on another recommendation, which focused on one voting unit per state, a rule that will have a huge bearing in Maharashtra.

Shirke stated that as an individual, he is okay with the recommendation but what the associations think will only come to picture when it is put in front of them.

The Lodha Committee had also recommended that the BCCI should be brought under the RTI ambit, and Shirke said such a move would be illegal.
