International peacekeepers declared on Wednesday the Afghan capital safe for the return home of former King Mohammad Zahir Shah after 29 years exile in Rome. "If you compare the security situation to four or five months ago, it has improved so much. We don't expect any problem," a spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) told reporters on the eve of the king's arrival from Rome. Security precautions will be elaborate. Zahir Shah will be protected by Italian police, ISAF troops and specially trained Afghan guards. Bureau Report
