When Sachin Tendulkar`s run-out against Pakistan triggered huge riot
In 1999 at Eden Gardens, Tendulkar got out in an unexpected manner.
New Delhi: Sachin Tendukar had always been a priced wicket for the opposition team. The Master Blaster played so many outstanding knocks throughout his career, which made him a dream wicket for most bowlers, especially the new comers.
However, in 1999 at Eden Gardens, when India were playing against arch-rivals Pakistan, Tendulkar got out in an unexpected manner.
It was the inaugural match of the Asian Test Championship. And Sachin had been bowled for a first ball duck in the first innings by Shoaib Akhtar.
In the second innings, when Tendulkar came in to bat, he collided with Akhtar while taking a run who was waiting close to the stumps to gather the return and fell short of his crease.
But unluckily for India, the 3rd umpire gave him out. And the decision made the Indian spectators livid.
