Karachi: Cricket Australia (CA) has approached the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play a day-night Test match against them when Pakistan tour Australia next year.

Confirming the news, PCB's Chief operating officer (COO), Subhan Ahmed said that they have received a proposal to play a day-night Test in during the 2016-2017 tour.


In a Express Tribune report, Ahmed was quoted as saying that the matter has been placed before the Pakistan cricket committee.


Ahmed said that the PCB is entirely in favour of trying out innovative ideas and new technologies, insisting that the day-night match with pink ball is one of them.


The first Test match under lights will be played between Australia and New Zealand at Adelaide from November 27.
