New Delhi: A concerned Robin Singh has expressed his concerns over Jasprit Bumrah's fitness, considering the taxing life of a pace bowler.

After making his international debut against Australia in Sydney in the third One-Day International on January 23, Bumrah has established himself as an integral part of the Indian team.


Former India all-rounder Robin Singh, who has overseen the rise of 22-year-old in the Mumbai Indian ranks, is worried about the bowler's fitness.


"There is no doubt about his skills. It's a question of keeping himself fit," Robin was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.


Robin then revealed that right-arm medium pacer undergone an operation last year.


"When we picked him for Mumbai in 2013, we had no clue on how he would perform considering his unorthodox action. His bowling talent persuaded us to sign him. We were always worried about his fitness and he got injured last year. He had to undergo an operation and he has made a strong comeback. I feel he looks physically stronger now." added Robin.


In short time, Bumrah has played six T20I and one ODI match, picking nine and two wickets respectively.


The talented youngster is expected to lead India's pace attack in the upcoming Asia Cup T20 and ICC World T20 competitions.
