The father-son duo took this decision to ensure there was no issue of conflict of interest.

“Before taking the chair of BCCI president, Manohar had clearly stated that his son would resign from all posts in the BCCI. He (Manohar) doesn’t want any conflict of interest issue especially after he has listed out key points to reform BCCI.

Manohar had informed BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur that his son will forward him a resignation letter at the earliest. With his son resigning, Manohar has clearly sent a strong message on his first day itself, ” a BCCI official told the Indian Express.

Adwait had been part of the two sub-committees since March.

"I have emailed my resignation from the marketing and legal committees to BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur.

It wouldn't have been for me to continue on the two committees when my father is BCCI chief," Adwait told the Times of India.
