The result of the match was clear when Ravichandran Ashwin completed his third over.

The in-form off-spinner on Sunday delivered a man of the match performance in Vizag to help bundle out Sri Lanka for 82.

With figures of 4 for 8, the Chennai spinner beat his previous best of 4 for 11 to record the best T20I bowling performance by an Indian.

The 29-year-old dismissed Niroshan Dickwella, T Dilshan, Dinesh Chandimal and Asela Gunaratne to cripple the visitors' batting line-up.

Ashwin picked up a total of 9 wickets in the series, winning the man of the series award.

With Ashwin at the peak of his powers, India will go into the Asia Cup as clear favorites.
