There were jubliant scenes at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah as the Tigers roared aloud to claim their best ever finish in an ICC event.

Bangladesh bowled out Sri Lanka for a paltry 214 runs at Fatullah with skipper Charith Asalanka top scoring for the island nation with 76 runs.

Frequent wickets in the middle jolted the Sri Lankans as Bangladesh relied on their bowlers to produce those magical moments.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz starred with three wickets.

In their chase Bangladesh lost two quick wickets before Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mehedi Hasan Miraz added 88 runs to bail the hosts out.

Hasan struck a well made 53 adding to his stupendous spell with the ball and that was enough to get him the man-of-the-match award.

In the end Bangladesh crossed the target with three wickets to spare.
