New Delhi: Chennaiyin FC's Stiven Mendoza is flying high with his goal-scoring abilities and that in turn has lightened up the Indian Super League season 2015.

Mendoza has put Chennai on a position of advantage in this crucial juncture of the season. The classy striker scored once again on Tuesday against Mumbai City FC to take his season's tally to 11 goals. Chennaiyin blanked Mumbai 3-0 at home and Mendoza looked bright on a rainy evening.

Mendoza has been crucial for Chennai's fortunes so far as the southern giants have climbed up to fourth in the table. With one league match to go in the campaign for them, the side will heavbily rest on Mendoza's brilliance to see them through.


Mendoza who has already scored two hattricks in this season has continued his hot goalscoring streak. Alongside Jeje, he has been involved in Chennaiyin's nine goals out of 11 in their last three matches including Tuesday's encounter.


On Tuesday, Stiven Mendoza was put through on goal by Zakeer Mundampara and the Colombian slotted the ball past Subrata Paul from the six-yard box into the bottom left corner with ease.


Mendoza's influence for Chennaiyin has been of similar vein with that of Iain Hume for Atletico de Kolkata. Hume has scored nine goals so far. Just like ATK, Chennai have blossomed at the right time and will love to win their final league match to battle for the semi-final.


Mendoza will hope to continue scoring and have a much more impact in ISL 2015.
