New Delhi: Asking Indian entrepreneurs to explore investment potential in the northeast region, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram Friday said there were many business opportunities with neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Myanmar and China. He said that China is a competitor and Bangladesh had a very friendly government while Myanmar offered hope for future cooperation.
"We hope to improve relations with Myanmar government," Chidambaram said while addressing the 7th northeast business summit. Observing that India should not envy China, he said, "We should try to emulate them in developing infrastructure in remote areas."
