Paris: Carlos Tevez, whose move to Shanghai Shenhua was confirmed early on Thursday, has reportedly become the biggest-earning footballer in the world.
What is even more surprising is that the Argentine professional footballer will be making even more than compatriot Lionel Messi and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tevez, the 32-year-old former Manchester United striker, will make around 38 million euros a season in China.
According to Portuguese media, Real Madrid star Ronaldo earns 23.6 million euros a season while Barcelona ace Messi boasts a salary of 20 million euros.
Ronaldo and Messi are also lagging behind Brazil's Oscar whose switch from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG last week guarantees him 24 million euros each season.
Football's top five salaries (as per media report):
- Carlos Tevez 31 million euros per year
- Oscar 20 million euros per year
- Cristiano Ronaldo 19 million euros per year
- Lionel Messi 19 million euros per year
- Gareth Bale 18 million euros per year
