Panaji: The BJP has decided to keep mum on the issue of its MP Sripad Naik`s entry into Goa politics through the forthcoming State Legislative Assembly polls.
BJP Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has said that it is for the central committee to decide on the issue.
"The Committee will most probably meet on February 3 and decide on various issues," he told reporters today. Naidu, who is down in the state to campaign for the party for March 3 polls, refused to clear the air over Naik`s entry into state politics.
"The issue is before the central committee and it will decide. Sripad Naik is our leader and party respects him," he said without commenting further on the issue. Naik, representing North Goa constituency in the Parliament, had expressed his wish to join state politics by fighting election from Porvorim constituency.
The party leadership in Delhi, however, had refused to allow him contest the polls.
