New Delhi: Two heavy weights and finalists of the Euro 2012 of European football face-off in the Round of 16. Courtesy to Croatia's 2-1 win over defending champions Spain in the final group stage clash, the latter could well be eliminated against the defensive giants Italy.
England, though favorites to progress to the quarters face one of the surprise packages of the tournament, Iceland who have more firepower in the belly than their credentials reveal.
Here is the list of Top 4 players, everyone's focus will be on -
Andreas Iniesta (Spain): The midfield maestro, who currently captains the La Roja side as David de Gea is prefered to Iker Casillas in goal, has been given two 'Man of the Match' award in Spain's first four matches. The 32-year-old has led his side from the front and his teammates will be seeking inspiration from him as they attempt to break the rigid Italy defence.
Georgio Chiellini (Italy): The veteran defender, who made his debut for the national side in 2004, has been an ever presence and guiding force in the three-man defense line. Together with Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli, the trio form the most leak-proof defense of the Euro 2016. Spain will have to come through something special if this error-free back-line is to be tested.
Dele Alli (England): In an inconsistent 'Three Lions' squad, Dele Alli has been one of the most consistent players and his importance was felt when manager Roy Hodgson decided to rest the Tottenham midfielder in the goalless draw against Slovakia. If England are to progress to the Round of 16, it is almost certain that Dele Alli will play an influential role.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Iceland): The Swansea City midfielder has been the creative force behind Iceland's journey to the Round of 16 and will once again be the go-to man as his side prepares to face England. Sigurdsson, who understands English football and its players very well, will be the likely key if Iceland are to unlock England and progress to the Quarter finals.
