Football: English FA chief says Euro stadium security `unacceptable`
English FA chief Greg Dyke told UEFA on Monday that stadium security for England`s Euro 2016 match against Russia was unacceptable.
Paris: English FA chief Greg Dyke told UEFA on Monday that stadium security for England`s Euro 2016 match against Russia was "unacceptable" and there are "serious concerns" about preparations for England`s next game.
"We believe the stewarding arrangements in place were unacceptable" for the England-Russia game in Marseille, Dyke said in a letter to UEFA obtained by AFP. Russian fans attacked English spectators in the stadium.
Dyke added that despite extra precautions, the FA also has "serious concerns around the security arrangements" being made for Lille where England fans are expected to gather ahead of their next game on Thursday against Wales in the neighbouring city of Lens.
