Bengaluru: Daniel Lalhlimpuia found the net late in the second half to lead Bengaluru FC to a 1-0 win over Mumbai FC in an I-League match, on Saturday.

With this win, Bengaluru have moved up to number one position in the points table with 26 points and are followed by Mohun Bagan (25). Mumbai FC are at the bottom of the points table at 12 points.


The solitary goal of the match came in 81st minute through Daniel, who scored after Vineeth Kumar cut it back for the youngster to tap home the winner. Udanta Singh, who was brought in place of Len Doungel in 68th minute, scooped the ball over for Vineeth to attack, who cut past Pawan and passed it for Daniel to score his first goal for the club. 


The second half completely belonged to Bengaluru as they made several attacks in the rivals' box. The hosts had five chances between 59th minute to 67th minute, but could not convert any. In 67th minute, Eugene Lyndoughs strike from 25 yards was saved by Pawan Kumar.


Earlier in 61st minute, Vineeth struck for Len Doungel to tap home but was off the target. In 60th minute as well, Vineeth's strike was blocked, but somehow Kim Song Yong set it up for Thoi singh which blocked again. 


In 59th minute, Len sent a cross for Vineeth but the ball sailed inches away from the target. Bengaluru had the first chance to take the lead in 25th minute of the match but Kim Song Yong headed straight to Mumbai goalkepeer Pawan Kumar. 


Bengaluru then, in 38th minute, almost went ahead with the lead but before Len Doungel could smash the ball into the post, the linesman raised the flag for an offside. The visitors also made an attempt with Ashutosh Mehta, and Jayesh Rane in action but Bengaluru goalkeeper Amrinder Singh collected the strike safely. 


In 43rd minute, Vineeth did well well to find space in the box and his cross found Kim but the header was weak and Pawan collected the ball with ease.
