ISL: Roberto Carlos could end up at Mumbai City FC - Report
Carlos had a good season with the Delhi Dynamos after being their marquee-player-manager in 2015 season.
New Delhi: Indian Super League strugglers Mumbai City FC are said to be hoping to get hold of Roberto Carlos for the third season.
According to a report in The Times of India, Mumbai City FC are said to be in advanced talks with the former Real Madrid and Brazil legend. He is said to be in the club's top list who are also eyeing few other candidates.
Sources claim that Mumbai City FC is expected to make an announcement on their new boss in time ahead of the July 1 deadline that has been granted to all ISL franchises.
Mumbai had a disappointing campaign under Nicolas Anelka in season 2 and finished in bottom half of the league.
Carlos had a good season with the Delhi Dynamos after being their marquee-player-manager in 2015 season. Delhi ended up as semi-finalists.
Earlier, Carlos wasn't keen to returning back to the ISL in 2016 season as he had stated in the semi-final. But with the talks of Mumbai City FC being interested, there is a possibility of him making a return and changing his views.
Last week Carlos had stated that he could be an assistant to current Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane. He said that he will soon come to know how will he collaborate with Real Madrid.
Both he and Zidane were teammates at Real Madrid.
Mumbai have failed to reach the semifinals in each of the two ISL editions. They have finished seventh under Englishman Peter Reid in 2014 and sixth last season.
