New Delhi: One of the greatest legends of football Johan Cruyff has been diagnosed with lung cancer, according to Spanish media reports.

The former Dutch player has undergone tests to establish the extent of the disease.


Cruyff, had won three consecutive European Cups and three Ballon d'Or awards during his time with Ajax in the 1970s.


Cruyff, who also played for and managed Barcelona, underwent double heart bypass surgery in 1991.


Also a report in Sky Sports mentioned that a statement will be issued on the Johan Cruyff Foundation web site on Thursday.
