Spanish international Silva has been out for six weeks due to an ankle injury, while a calf injury is looking certain to force Belgium international Kompany out of the match against the Italian football champions.

“They are still injured. We hope in the future they can recover as soon as they can, but I don’t think any of them will be ready for Wednesday," Pellegrini told the club's website, mcfc.com.

City are coming off a 1-4 rout against Liverpool on Saturday in the English Premier League (EPL).
