Ronaldo, 30, scored twice in Tuesday's Champions League game against Malmo which took him past Raul Gonzalez's club record of 323 goals. In the process, the Portuguese also reached a career tally to 501 goals.

However, there's still confusion surrounding the count thanks to a goal scored against Real Sociedad in September 2010. The disputed goal, which was officially given to his team-mate and compatriot Pepe from a Ronaldo free-kick deflection was however accredited to the former Manchester United by the club.

In the Santiago Bernabeu function, the World Player of the Year was given a silver boot and ball award for his latest achievement. Club president Perez, while delivering a speech during the function, said that CR7 is already a legend.

The club also released an official video to commemorate Ronaldo's achievement. Click here to watch the video.

In his seven season at Madrid, Ronaldo has won seven titles.

The function was also attended by superstar's mother Dolores and his son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.
