Patna: A nilgai strayed in the shrubs
adjoining the Jaya Prakash Narayan International Airport here,
sending Bihar forest officials into tizzy.
The forest officials were on their toes while trying to tranquilise the antelope for the whole day yesterday. We shot two ransquilisers but that dose was not not sufficient and then we had to increase the dose to tame it last evening," Patna District Forest offier Surendera singh said today.
Airport authorities confirmed that air operation was not affected because of the incident. The animal was believed to have jumped the four-feet gate of an abandoned plot full of shrubs and adjoining the airport boundary but prevented by forest officials from straying into the operational zone of the airport, he said.
