Woman tries to shield brother from dacoits, killed

Jaipur: A 30-year-old woman was shot dead
after she tried to shield her brother from firing by a gang of dacoits in Rajasthan`s Dholpur district, police said here
Friday.
Oma Devi was shot dead last night after she tried to shield her brother Hariom from the dacoits in Sarmathura town, they said. "A group of around 10 dacoits led by Ramvilas Gujjar, who had an old rivalry with Hariom, barged into his house last night and opened fire after a heated argument. His sister was shot dead when she tried to shield him," Dholpur SP Rahul Prakash said. The man received bullet injuries and is undergoing treatment at government hospital in Dholpur, he said.
A case has been registered against Ramvilas, police said, adding that he is a wanted dacoit.
