Spain football team was not afraid at all: Coach Vicente del Bosque
Del Bosque claimed that they wanted to play the game, but it`s a matter of security.
Brussels: Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque has regretted the cancellation "for security reasons" of the football friendly that would have been played on Tuesday in Brussels against Belgium and declared that his team did not fear a possible attack.
"We wanted to play the game, but it's a matter of security," Efe quoted Del Bosque as saying from his seat in the plane taking the Spanish team back to Madrid.
The coach denied that the players had been frightened here, which has raised its terror alert from level two to three following the attacks last Friday in Paris.
"We were not afraid at all. We were calm at the hotel, there was no problem. The players were calm, but now the sooner we return to Madrid the better," he confessed.
"Nobody likes this because we are here to play a game and to entertain the fans," said the 2010 World Cup-winning team coach, who is in favour of the Euro 2016 being held in France.
