UEFA Champions League draw: Barca reunion for Guardiola, Madrid get Dortmund, Arsenal pair PSG
The first matches will be played on September 13 and 14.
New Delhi: In a mouth-watering UEFA Champions League 2016-17 draw on Thursday, five-time winners Barcelona are drawn with Manchester City in the Group C.
Today's draw at Monaco meant that former Barca manager Pep Guardiola will travel to Camp Nuo with Manchester City. They were drawn in a tricky group, which also has Borussia Moenchengladbach of Germany and Scottish champions Celtic.
Guardiola helped the Catalan giants to the Champions League title in 2009 and 2011. He also won the world's most greatest club tournament as a player in 1992. The Spaniard joined English club City from Bayern Munich, where he failed to win the coveted trophy.
Record 11-time winners and defending champions Real Madrid are in Group F with German outfit Borussia Dortmund Portugal`s Sporting and Legia Warsaw of Poland.
Five-time winners Munich are in the Group D, with last year`s beaten finalists Atletico Madrid, PSV Eindhoven and Russian debutants Rostov.
Two perennial underachievers, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal got a relatively favourable draw in the Group A. Swiss champions FC Basel and Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets are other teams in the group.
English champions and first timers Leicester City also got a favourable draw, with FC Porto, Club Brugge and FC Copenhagen in the Group G.
Italian giants Juventus will take on three-time reigning European League champions Sevilla as well as Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb in Group H.
