Islamabad: Days before former President Pervez Musharraf’s planned return to Pakistan from self-exile, a key leader of his party resigned on Wednesday.
Fawwad Chaudhry, who was a spokesman for Musharraf and general secretary of the All Pakistan Muslim League`s (APML) Punjab chapter, said he was resigning from his party as he was not being consulted on important issues such as Musharraf`s planned return or the organisation of rallies. Chaudhry said he had sent his resignation to the party leadership via e-mail.

Earlier, veteran politician and former minister Sher Afgan Khan Niazi resigned from the APML following differences with the party`s leadership. PTI
