Haryana to have plan to tackle chemical accident
Chief Secretary of SCG said emergency services like police, fire, medical and transport need to be prepared in advance to handle such situations.
Chandigarh: Haryana government on Tuesday directed
all deputy commissioners in the state to prepare off-site
emergency plans of their district within the next two months
to ensure minimal impact on life and property during any
emergency arising out of chemical accidents.
Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati said emergency services
like police, fire, medical and transport need to be prepared
in advance to handle such situations effectively.
Gulati was presiding over the first meeting of the State Crisis Group which has been constituted to provide expert guidance for handling major chemical accidents.
District Crisis Groups have been constituted in all districts headed by respective deputy commissioners, she said. The plan would be prepared keeping in mind rescue and relief for the affected people outside areas of industrial installation and for protection of property and environment, she added. PTI
