The fan area is located in the capital`s Chapultepec Park and features historic cars from Formula One, a mini race course as well as a series of video games for the ultimate aficionado.

F1 fan Luis Delgado told Reuters the area will give those a chance who didn`t get a chance to go to the race to get involved in the fun

"It`s a family event for all those fans who could not go to Formula One or who went to Formula One and have the need for more speed, we have a simulator and they can see what it feels like. Here there are real cars from Formula 1, there will also be autographs from drivers. Finally, it`s a great festival," said Delgado.

Mexico`s F1 circuit, which had hosted grands prix from 1963-70 and 1986-92, has seen changes to the ultra-fast banked right-hander at the end of the lap, Peraltada, and resurfaced the track to reduce its notorious bumpiness.
