Sergio Perez feels that Force India can challenge Red Bull and Williams for a top-four position in the Formula One constructors' championship in 2016.

And the basis for his belief is the way the Indian team had finished the 2015 season.

A report in autosport quoted the Mexican driver as saying, "Finishing off the season the way we did provides us with a much stronger platform for next year."

"We're expecting other teams to move up. You don't know what will happen with Lotus/Renault, McLaren-Honda, those kind of teams, but we expect them to be up there fighting us," said Perez.

He continued, "There is a lot of hope we can do better than fifth next season.

"I understand to move up to fourth is a big ask, but we have to be aiming for Red Bull and Williams.

"But I believe in the team and believe it can be a fantastic season next year."

Force India finished fifth in the 2015 Constructors' Championship, behind Mercedes, Ferrari, Williams and Red Bull.

Perez himself produced a good season, finishing ninth in the Drivers' Championship and contributed 78 points to the team's cause. His German team-mate Nico Hulkenberg finished 10th with 58 points.
