New Delhi: Terming the budget as "urban oriented", BSP on Friday said it will increase the prices of commodities.

"The budget presented by Finance Minister is not rural oriented. It is urban oriented," said BSP leader Vijay Pratap Bahadur outside Parliament. He said there are about 60 crore people who are below poverty line and it will not help them.
"Unless you take steps to increase the production of wheat, vegetables and other commodities there is no meaning of the budget. The budget will increase the prices of commodities further," he said.

BJD also termed the budget as "disappointing".
"The Finance Minister has missed an opportunity to come up with bold reforms as well as have an inclusive growth in rural India. The amount being allocated to education and health is far below what was expected and required," BJD leader Kalikesh Singhdeo said.
The BJD MP said, "The reform orientation process of the government is ambiguous and opaque. It is a disappointing budget." "The inclusive growth factor is missing. The rural India and poor India has been victimised by the budget because the direct taxes have been given leeway whereas indirect taxes have been increased on commodities such as cycles which will affect the common man," he added.
